2020: The 50th Behavior Genetics Association Meeting

We are pleased to announce that the BGA 2020 annual meeting online was a smashing success! Thank you to all of the presenters who made this meeting possible.

Date of the online conference: June 26th

Format: 24h conference with ‘local hosts’ in the US, Europe, and Australia. The conference began in Brisbane, Australia, on Friday, June 26 at 9:00 A.M. (Brisbane time) which is Thursday, June 25, midnight in London and Thursday, June 25, 7:00 P.M. in New York.

Click here for the program, which includes links to the recorded talks for each session!

All sessions are also available for viewing in this vimeo showcase. Please note that you will need to use the password provided in your registration email (the same password as for the poster presentations). Sessions are uploaded in unique video files, but it was not possible to link to specific talks within each session.

Platform: Zoom (talks will be recorded)

Presentation Formats: Details are in planning, but we expect that talks will each be given a 15 minute slot. Instead of large format posters we will have pre-recorded mini presentation (max 5 slides and 5 minutes narrative) that will be available throughout the conference and for some time after. We may be able to accommodate symposia and plenary addresses, details TBD.

Registration is closed.

Business Meeting: Took place during the online conference. Minutes will be distributed to the membership via usual channels.

The 24-hour conference

The 24-hour conference allows for presentations hosted around the clock for a full day, with each time block accessible by two regions during standard waking hours. The major challenge is of course the different time zones and the absence of childcare for many. We will do all we can to connect as many people as possible. We will try to accommodate as many talks as possible during our 24-hour conference. In the event that we receive more abstracts than can be accommodated for a given time zone we will give priority to more junior members.

Please also be aware that the talks will be recorded in order to allow for attendees to later view talks they missed. The recordings will be made accessible through a password protected link on this website (more details to follow). We will not be able to accommodate non-recording requests so please consider this when submitting an abstract.
