An opportunity exists for an accomplished researcher in computational genomics, statistical genetics, behavioral genetics, and/or computational biology to deepen their knowledge in the context of the emerging area of addiction and behavioral genomics.
The Peng lab in the Department of Neuroscience at The Scripps Research Institute in La Jolla, California is seeking a postdoctoral research associate. The ideal candidate would be a highly motivated researcher with a quantitative research background. The individuals who are interested in contributing to the following are encouraged to apply: cutting-edge research focusing on the dissection of the complex genetic and epigenetic basis of addiction and related human behaviors utilizing multi-omics data. The fellow will receive professional and career mentorship along with opportunities to advance their own expertise to become an independent investigator.
Postdoctoral Associates are appointed positions for the purpose of developing scholarly competence, working under the supervision of a Scripps Research Faculty member. These appointments are normally not renewed beyond a total of five years.
REQUIREMENTS
Must possess a doctoral degree. A pending doctoral degree may be considered with approval of the Principal Investigator. Excellent analytical skills and verbal/written communication skills are required. Knowledge in any of the following areas is desirable: genomics, statistical genetics, bioinformatics, NGS analysis, computational biology, computer science, and statistics.
