Job opening for a research & evaluation scientist at the Cambridge Health Alliance. Location Medford, Massachusetts (USA)
- Job Duties:
1. Oversee data management, documentation, and quality control 2. Work with faculty on addiction-related research 3. Perform advanced data analysis on primary and secondary sources 4. Collaborate on research design and implementation using technologically based screening and data collection instruments 5. Draft and edit manuscripts for publication in scholarly journals 6. Draft and edit articles for The BASIS 7. Establish and maintain research resource files 8. Prepare substantive aspects of research grant proposals, especially literature and database searches and analyses 9. Participate in Division colloquium, conferences and CME courses 10. Manage research support staff 11. Organize and submit applications for funding and institutional review boards 12. Establish independent research focus 13. Mentor Cambridge Health Alliance trainees and summer mentees.
- Job Requirements:
PhD or equivalent o A strong interest in the field of addictive behaviors and experience in social science research, particularly in an academic and/or public health settings is preferred. o Leadership, teaching, and mentoring skills and experience sought. o Excellent data analysis, computer, and writing skills required. o Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, SPSS and SAS required. o Experience with large datasets and data mining techniques, as well as programs such as R or Mathematica an advantage. o Outstanding verbal and written communication skills required. o Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and proven ability to function independently and secure research funding required. o Working knowledge of Internet poker, daily fantasy sports, and electronic gaming machines an advantage
