FACULTY POSITION OPPORTUNITY IN HUMAN DEVELOPMENT AND NEUROSCIENCE

The Brain Imaging Research Center (BIRC) is seeking a human developmental scientist for a tenure-track or tenure-eligible faculty position at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS). The BIRC is a clinical/computational neuroscience center and center of excellence in training and career development. This faculty position is a key component of a strategic plan to extend our human neuroimaging research program into early to late childhood and early adolescence to inform the neurodevelopmental trajectory of drug use and other mental health disorders.

The preferred candidate would have a record of training and research productivity related to child development with expertise in child assessment and neurodevelopment. A career interest in characterizing the neurodevelopmental mechanisms linking early life risk and protective factors to differing trajectories of mental health and illness is also preferred. Excellent neuroimaging technologies, data informatics, research specialists, and community partners are available to this research program within a highly collaborative team to create an outstanding career development opportunity for this faculty position. The preferred candidate would also have a strong career interest in the multi-level mentoring of trainees. The primary academic appointment would be in the Department of Psychiatry and Psychiatric Research Institute in the UAMS College of Medicine.
