Seeking a postdoctoral research fellow in human psychoneuroimmunology research at the Center for Healthy Minds, University of Wisconsin-Madison

We are seeking a motivated and creative postdoctoral fellow to help implement new projects and analyze data associated with NIH-funded studies that examine the role of emotion and its neural underpinnings on the regulation of inflammation in individuals with chronic inflammatory disease. The successful applicant will be responsible for analysis of neuroimaging, immune, and behavioral data and will have the opportunity to gain valuable professional experience through publication of their work in scientific journals, presentations at scientific meetings, and engagement with the community.

The Center for Healthy Minds (CHM) offers an exceptional interdisciplinary environment with extensive training opportunities. Located in beautiful Madison, Wisconsin, CHM is a research center comprised of psychologists, psychiatrists, neuroscientists, contemplative scholars, and biostatisticians. Our mission is to cultivate well-being and relieve suffering through a scientific understanding of the mind. Our facilities include state-of-the-art neuroimaging equipment and support, including two research-dedicated 3T MRI scanners equipped with 32-channel head coils, a brand-new [details of the PET scanner here], and multiple fully-equipped experimental suites for simultaneous behavioral and psychophysiological recording.

Qualifications: MD and/or PhD in neuroscience, psychology or a related field. The ideal candidate will possess a solid foundation in fMRI data analysis, statistics, and computer programming, including expertise in R, MATLAB and/or python. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required, in addition to an aptitude for scientific writing and the openness, desire, and curiosity to learn new skills and pursue new research terrain.

Salary/Benefits: This is a full-time research position with multiple years of funding. A full benefits package is available.
