TwinLife User Conference, University of Bremen (Germany), 26 to 28 March 2025.
The conference brings together scientists who are working with TwinLife data or are interested in doing so. We aim to encourage exchange of ideas and discussions on research questions and/or findings, and thus to strengthen and initiate collaborations. You are welcome to present new research ideas, methods, or findings. You can also join the conference without a contribution. There will be plenty of space for discussion and exchange on research topics and methods. You do not have to be a current TwinLife data user to participate!
Correspondingly, we offer a range of different formats for participation:
- Research Idea Presentation
(~2 to 5 minute pitch with subsequent discussion and exchange)
- Paper Presentation
(~10 to 15 minute talk with subsequent discussion, e.g. for finished projects or works-in-progress)
- Plenary Discussion
(~45 to 60 minute open discussion on a specific topic)
- Workshop
(to demonstrate a method or to work on a topic with colleagues - please suggest a timeframe!)
- Different contribution format
(we will ask you to describe/specify)
- Participation without a contribution
(we will ask you to describe your research interests and background)
Research idea presentations and paper presentations will be pooled into sessions by common topics. Research idea presentations might also be pooled by common topics into round table discussions with one or more data experts from the TwinLife team.
There will be no registration fee. Catering will be provided for free. This includes the welcome reception, two lunch meals, and coffee/snack breaks. Travel and accommodation expenses will have to be covered by attendees. We offer four PhD student travel awards — more information can be found here.
Please submit your details for participation by either providing us with an abstract of your submission, or a short description of your research idea or topic(s) of interest of 2,500 characters or less.
Submission is possible until the 15th of November 2024. We kindly ask you to submit early rather than late, as this would help us immensely in planning the program and organizing the conference.
TwinLife is the largest German twin family panel that has been realized thus far. We would be pleased to welcome you in Bremen to get together and discuss research based on these unique data!
Further information on participation, registration and accommodation can be found in the attached document and on the conference website.
